Tonight was a special night. Our Boys and Girls defeated Holly Pond and we honored the tradition of the Jesse George Gym.
The Jesse George Gymnasium was built in 1966 and the tradition of excellence carries on to this day. It is hard to put into words what this gym means to our community. There is so much history and tradition that lives inside the walls of the Jesse George. When you look around you can see where our beloved community members have faithfully sat each night. The ones that have passed away hold a special place in our hearts. It's incredible that we have had something so special in the form of a gym that has been the glue for our community for so many years. The comfort of this gym has given our community something to look forward to on cold winter nights. Everyone knew that gametime meant you could show up and share the warmth and loving environment inside the walls of our beloved gym. It is where our families have come together for so many years to celebrate good times and support each other during the not so good times. Memories galore fill this gym. There were nights when you couldn't even find a seat. There were overtimes, buzzer beaters, blowouts, and just good basketball games. There were nights when officials swore they would never be back thanks to our bottom row of loyal fans. Opposing schools hated to come here and play. When you walked in you knew how special it was and that was intimidating. Hometown heroes were made in this gym. These Championship legends were made in this gym. We are blessed to have had all of these memories. They will forever live in our hearts. It is not the building itself that has created all of these memories. It is all of you. Your past success began paving the way for our future accomplishments. You showed us it could be done. Everyone here tonight is what our community is all about. Your dedication and commitment to this school and community has made Cold Springs special. To everyone represented tonight that has played a part in our great basketball history we kindly say thank you for the memories. Thank you for making Cold Springs what it is today. Once an EAGLE always an EAGLE.
