Helping Everyone Succeed is what we are doing at HES. We are doing our annual testing for third through fifth grades. Please help your child get enough sleep and a good breakfast to help them do their best on the tests. Dr. Seuss Week was a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures of students and teachers. If you have pictures you'd like to include, please let Mrs. Lakin know. We had dodge ball to raise money for Relay for Life. Here are a few shots of the teacher game and the teacher-student game. Check out the slide show of our Christmas Program. Thanks to Mrs. Clemmons for the pictures. If you have any you would like to add, email them to me, or bring your camera by and I'll download them. mlakin@ccboe.org, webmaster | We had great results on our standardized
tests last year. Our students did a great job! You can check the
scores for our school and all others in the state by going to the
Alabama State Department of Education web site: www.alsde.edu and click
on the Accountability Reporting bar.
We collect a number of items for school and charity. Please check below, clip and send to school to help us get free products and raise money for our school and charities. We collect Box Tops for Education to earn money for our school. Each label is worth ten cents. Please clip and send to school. Click here to see a list of participating products. Look for fun sheets to attach labels. We just sent in about $700 worth of tops! Keep collecting - it will be an on-going project. Check online for merchants that give points: www.boxtops4education.com. We collect can tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities. Ronald McDonald houses provide housing for families with children that are patients in hospitals around the world. We collect Coke Rewards to get free products for our school. You can set up your own account and enter codes, then donate them to Hanceville Elementary. We just received a box of art supplies thanks to the people that send bottle caps and the ends of cartons.
